Abstract/Contents:Briefly presents a study conducted in Tucson, Arizona during 1968 to determine the extent of flea beetle (Chaetocnema) damage to dichondra and the abilities of Gardona and diazinon to control it. Notes that "using a garden hose sprayer the east half of the yard was sprayed with Gardona, [2-choloro-2- (2-4-5 tricholorophenyl) vinyl dimethyl phosphate], at the rate of 0.5 pound per 100 gallons of water (5 gallons spray per 1000 square feet)." Reports that "the diazinon-treated dichondra...masked the dead plants, thereby giving the whole lawn a uniform green color."
