Abstract/Contents: | Discusses preparing sports turf for cricket matches after being damaged by hockey and soccerl players. Addresses the preparation of seed mixtures, suggesting that "quick growing grasses must be included in the mixture and the proportions should be so adjusted that early growth does not hinder the establishment of the slower growing fine leaved species." Recommends establishing deep root growth on fields which serve a dual purpose and suggests that "this is the only means whereby turf can be expected to withstand tremendous play without a rest period." |
