Abstract/Contents: | Dicsusses the usefulness of weather lore in attempting to predict the weather. Explains that "the people of...[the United Kingdom] have gradually evolved and acquired a body of weather lore handed down through many generations." Suggests that these lores are useful in that "official weather predictions are too generalised to be always applicable to localities." Adds that "because weather lore relies on human observation of the locality, it affords an invaluable indication of local weather." Details the action of several animals when a storm is approaching. |
