Abstract/Contents: | Profiles Fusarium Patch, identifying it as "a fungoid disease affecting the leaves of grasses." Indicates several characteristics of the disease and its composition. Provides the disease's symptoms, explaining that "the damaged areas are invariably circular in outline, at first about the size of a penny; later theses extend and several isolated patches may congregate covering a large area." Suggests frequent piercing to prevent "the accumulation of moisture near the surface and the application of topdressings containing sharp clean sand or charcoal assists in maintaining healthy growth." Concludes that "the successful treatment of Fusarium Patch is largely a matter of observing the the disease at the outset and undertaking remedial measures immediately." |
