Abstract/Contents:Discusses choosing grass "with which to renovate sea-washed turf bowling greens." Suggests that "successful renovation of bowling greens is partly dependent upon choosing the right grass species and partly on the method adopted when introducing the seed." Provides a detailed description of four fescue varieties which may help renovate sea-washed turf, including Chewings fescue, pedigree red fescue S59, European creeping red fescue, and Festuca rubra glaucescens. Presents the merits of each fescue while also indicating their faults, and evaluates their usefulness in renovating sea-washed turf. Details the methods which may be employed to establish the seeds, explaining how the distribution and germination of the seed may be enhanced.
