Suggests that "of all the cultural inputs, nitrogen is preceded only by water in the amount required by the turf." Discusses the difference between quickly available and slowly available nitrogen sources, mentioning the benefits of each. Continues by detailing organic sources of nitrogen, including "animal manures, bone meal, dried blood, waste from the food industry, activated sewage sludge, soybean meal, and cotton seed meal." Addresses synthetic nitrogen sources, coated nitrogen sources, and nitrification and urease inhibitors, stating that "nitrification and urease inhibitors modify nitrogen transformation processes in the soil and are intended to maintain nitrogen in a form that minimizes leaching and volatilization losses." |
