| Abstract/Contents: | Profiles the renovation process of three soccer fields in which "different techniques and products [were used]...with the common objective of achieving a quality stand of turf." Explains that soil samples were taken to indicate "the level of availability of all the major nutrients necessary for the establishment and maintenance of healthy turf." Provides information on measures taken to raise the levels of lime, nitrogen, and phosphorous in one of the fields, highlighting the application rate. Details the fertility strategy for the remaining two other fields, stating it was "a more traditional approach." Overviews the plan to cultivate the fields and plant the seeds, listing the equipment used as: a slice seeder, an aeravator, a deep tine core aerator, a top dresser, and a tractor. Details the methods in which the equipment was employed and the fields were seeded. Concludes that the fields share the same level of quality despite the different products and methods used. |
