Abstract/Contents:Presents part two of an article on baseball infield topdressing authored by Paul Zwaska of Beacon Athletics in 1999. Identifies four types of topdressings on the market in 1999, including calcined clays, vitrified clay, crushed aggregates, and diatomaceous earth. Details situations in which the use of one specific type might be more beneficial than the use of others. Also provides maintenance advice on base mixes, aerating, and leveling. Emphasizes that "moisture is what will give your base mix the corky feel that the players desire." Suggests that when topdressing is applied over a base mix, "it should be spiked into the top 1/2 to one inch of the base mix."
