| Abstract/Contents: | "An evaluation of fungicides for control of red thread (Laetisaria fuciformis) and pink patch (Liminomyces roseipellis was conducted at the Landscape Management Research Center, University Park, PA, on 'Koket' Chewings fescue (Festuca rubra ssp. Commutate 'Koket') maintained under home lawn management conditions. Individual plots, 3 ft x 23 ft, were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Treatment were applied with a CO2-powered boom sprayer, using T-jet 8004 nozzles, at 30 psi, in water equivalent to 2 gal per 1000 sq ft. Applications were made on 4 and 19 May; 2, 16, and 30 Jun; and 13 Jul; except as noted in the table. Red thread/pink patch severity was visually evaluated on 15 Jun and 13 Jul. Leaf spot severity in the test area was evaluated on 15 Jun. Data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance and Duncan's Multiple Range test. The experimental fungicides, fluazinam and RH-0611F, gave excellent control of all three diseases that were present in the test area. During the last month of the trial, the plots treated with Broadway showed necrotic patches. Such damage was not apparent at this time on other treatments or on the untreated areas." |
