| Abstract/Contents: | "Field experiment was conducted on creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds.) cultivars, L93, SR1119, Crenshow, Southshore, Dominant, PennA2, and Penncross to obtain the growth characteristics, turf quality and winter verdure in the year of seeding, 1998-1999. Turfs were adequately mowed, irrigated and applied fertilizer without stress. Turf quality was significantly higher for L93 and PennA2 than Southshore or Penncross, and PennA2, Crenshow, L93 and SR1119 kept the stable quality from spring to winter. However, winter verdure was lower for Crenshow and SR1119. According to these results, the turfgrass quality ratings of bentgrass cultivars were L93, PennA2 > SR1119, Crenshow, Dominant > Southshore > Penncross in the year of seeding." |
