Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the role of biodiversity in the golf community, suggesting that biodiversity is "helping nature to fend for herself...which in a golfing context means increasing the pleasure of playing the game." Explains that the "search for sustainability of courses [and] doing the right thing by nature...[is] actually the most effective way of increasing the playability of a course and the sheer pleasure of playing it." Addresses ways to promote biodiversity in golf courses, and adds that "recent evidence indicates that golf clubs which pursue biodiversity through course management are better able to attract new members nowadays than those which don't." |
