Abstract/Contents:"Simulations of Tidwarf bermudagrass and Penncross bentgrass greens were developed in the greenhouse, and mini-greens outdoors, with lysimeters to collect the leachate transported through the greens rooting medium. Pesticides are applied to the turfgrass and the greens are fertilized, mowed and irrigated according to management strategies commonly used on golf course greens in the Piedmont region. The soil leachate including the transported pesticides are analyzed. To date the results indicate that very low concentrations (less that 5 parts per billion) of the treatment pesticides are identified in the leachate. This research was initiated in 1993 and will be terminated in 1997."
