Abstract/Contents:"Current applied research efforts involve the use of non-selective herbicides for winter weed contron [control] in dormant bermudagrass and the evaluation of new herbicide mixtures for broadleaf weed control in turfgrass. The use of non-selective herbicides such as Roundup Pro, Finale, and Reward each vary in their weed control and transition effectiveness when applied during green-up. Results of this research will be useful to superintendents in devision winter weed control strategies in non-overseeded dormant bermudagrass and will be completed in 1997. Commercial herbicide mixtures that contain differing amounts of 1,4-D, MCPA, clopyralid, triclopyr and dicambe are useful for the control of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds. Most research on these products has been conducted in the northern United States. The trials conducted in Georgia in 1997 will help to define the weed spectrum and tolerance of actively-growing bermudagrass to these products."
