Abstract/Contents: | Discusses whether disease-resistant turfgrasses require fewer fungicide applications. Defines plant resistance as "the ability to delay or prevent infection." Suggests that several cultivars introduced in 2010 "demonstrate increase [increased] levels of resistance to the dollar spot fungus, but dollar spot eventually still develops on these cultivars." Emphasizes the potential value of this information to breeders, stating that "[molecular] markers could be developed to screen future turfgrass cultivars for dollar spot resistance." |
