Abstract/Contents:Presents a cultivar evaluation of 48 Kentucky bluegrass cultivars and 'Sabre' Poa trivialis conducted to determine quality and fall color retention, at the Turfgrass Research Plots at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) in Wooster, Ohio in the fall of 1977. Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating "the plots received approximately 4 N/1000 sq. ft./yr and were maintained at a 2 inch cutting height with clippings being returned." Reports during the first season, Mystic, I528-T, Touchdown and Komono showed the highest overall quality, while Sabre, H-7, and Bristol showed the worst, as seen in Table 4. Concludes that Touchdown showed the most superior fall color retention, while IS-154 and Sving had the worst.
