Abstract/Contents: | Presents a cultivar evaluation conducted to determine establishment rate, quality and rust susceptibility of 23 ryegrass cultivars at the Ohio State University Turfgrass Research Facility in Columbus, Ohio. Details the materials and methods used, stating "the plots were maintained at a 2 inch cutting height with clippings being returned" and noting the plots received three pounds of nitrogen per 1000 square feet a year, and irrigated to prevent wilt. Reports in Table 6 the establishment rate of perennial ryegrass cultivars, with Diplomat, Paramount and Blazer showing the greatest cover and Omega, Birdie and Citation the least. Notes the quality ratings in Table 7, with Fiesta, Blazer and Acclaim among the highest quality. Notes that Table 8 displays the relative susceptibility of the cultivars to rust, with Paramount the most susceptible. |
