Abstract/Contents: | All 2-component mixtures of herbicides tested proved superior to single compounds for the control of a broad spectrum of weeds in turfgrass. Generally, Pril treatments tended to give slightly better weed control. Chlorsulfuron and bromoxynil were best for purslane [Portulaca oleraca], speedwell [Veronica sp.] and knawel [Scleranthus annuus]. All 2-component mixtures of 2,4-D with dichlorprop, dicamba, triclopyr and mecoprop showed potential as alternatives to 2,4-D + fenoprop (suspended by EPA). |
