Abstract/Contents:Gives three steps for improving turf through management when redesign or renovation is not possible due to limited funds. The first step is site evaluation based on several criteria provided. Most important criteria is what are the species managed and are they adaptable to environmental conditions. The second step is weed identification, several criteria are given, to provide best conditions for turf growth unimpeded by limiting factors. The third step is through evaluation of primary management practices (mowing, fertilization, irrigation, aerification and vertical mowing).
