Abstract/Contents:Summarizes the effects of 4 fertility treatments tested in a Kentucky bluegrass turf on vigor, color, density, quality, crabgrass and Kentucky Bluegrass cover. Kentucky Bluegrass was seeded at 2.6 lb/1000ft2 and cut at 2.75". Treatments were incorporated into top inch of soil prior to seeding. Treatments Bova-Mura (16 oz/1000ft2/"m"), compost-wet manure (300lb/"m"), Milorganite (20lb/"m"), and Ringer (10lb/"m"). Ratings were taken from June to November 1989 and are presented in a table with the least significant difference value at 2=0.05. All fertility treatments significantly increased vigor over untreated Check on 8/22/89, but not on 11/15/89. Color was significantly enhanced in all fertility treatment plots on 8/22/89 and 7/17/89, but not on 11/15/89. Treatments did not significantly affect turfgrass density. On 7/17/89, turfgrass quality was significantly reduced and Crabgrass cover was significantly increased in the Ringer treatment as compared to untreated Check. Application of all fertility treatments resulted in greater than 90% Kentucky Bluegrass cover on 11/15/89.
