Abstract/Contents:Evaluated various herbicide treatments for control of crabgrass. Treatments were applied to an established mixed stand of Kentucky bluegrass, Red fescue, and perennial ryegrass in a randomized complete block design with 3 reps. Treatments were applied on 8/9/89 post to crabgrass. Control of crabgrass and herbicide injury were rated on 8/15, 8/25, and 9/8/89. Treatments were 1) Acclaim 1E (.08lb/A) + Pendimethalin (3.0lb/A) 2) Acclaim 1E (.12lb/A) + Pendimethalin (3.0lb/A) 3) Acclaim 1E (.08lb/A) + Team (2.5lb/A) 4) Acclaim 1E (.12lb/A) + Team (2.5lb/A) and 5) Dacthal 75WP (12lb/A). Dacthal at the same rate was also applied prior to crabgrass emergence. Acclaim is a postemergence herbicide while Pendimethalin and Team are preemergent herbicides, which were either tank mixed or applied in sequence with Acclaim in this trial. Pendimethalin and Team had no influence on the efficacy of Acclaim for postemergent crabgrass control. Dacthal 75WP gave no postemergent and greater than 90% preemergent crabgrass control on all rating dates. No significant herbicide injury occurred in this trial.
