Abstract/Contents:"The site for the evaluation was a 'Penncross' creeping bentgrass golf green 990-10% sand-organic matter, pH 7.4) located at Stillwater, OK. The green was maintained at a 0.16 in. mowing height, with 0.5 lb N/1000 ft2 applied monthly. Irrigation was supplied to prevent visual moisture stress. Experimental units were 3 X 12 ft plots consisting of a 2 x 12 ft treatment area and a 1 x 12 ft paired untreated check. A randomized complete block design with 3 replications was used. Each plot was subdivided into 2 sections for ratings at 7 and 14 days after treatment (DAT). Each 3 x 6 ft subdivision was inoculated with Sclerotinia homoeocarpa infected rye grains 4 days before rating. Eleven treatments were applied on 15 Jun 89 with a CO2 sprayer at 40 psi. Disease severity was evaluated by rating the plot and untreated check for disease on a 1 to 9 scale (i.e. 1 = no disease and 9 = completely blighted). Disease control was calculated (i.e., [(check - treated)/check] x 100) to adjust for variability of dollar spot infestation across the experimental area. The curative evaluation was measured by spraying the treatments on the infected check. The area was rated prior to treatment and 7 DAT. The difference in rating was the curative value. Disease pressure was good throughout the test due to inoculation. Vorlan DF50, Vorlan DF50/Fungo WP50, San-619F WP40, Daconil DG90, and RH-3866 Df60 had good preventative activity at 7 DAT. The 0.07 oz rate of San-619F WP40, Daconil DG90, and RH-3866 DF60 had good preventative activity at 7 DAT. The 0.07 oz rate of San-619F WP40, the 2.0 oz rate of Vorlan DF50/Fungo WP50, RH-3866 DF60, and Banner EC 1.1 maintained activity to be inconsistent with all treatments, but some activity was reported."
