Abstract/Contents:Fungicides were applied following the appearance of symptoms to turf maintained at putting green height. Soil was a man-mixed, sandy loam with a pH of 7.6 and 1.9% OM. Fungicides were applied on three spray intervals, as noted in the data table, with a CO2 pressurized (38 psi) sprayer in 2.5 gal. water per 1000 ft2. Except for the 0.15 in. of rain that fell 8 hrs. Following the 22 Jun application, no rain occurred within 24 hrs of any spray date. Plots were 5 by 5 ft, and were arranged in a randomized complete block with five replications. Percent of plot area blighted was visually assessed on a 0 to 100% scale. Ratings exceeding 0.5% plot area blighted would be considered unacceptable control for putting green turf. Dollar spot severity was moderate to high. All treatments significantly reduced dollar spot on all rating dates. While there were no statistical differences among treatments, SDS 6811 provided excellent control and there was little or no dollar spot in SDS 66811 treated plots, regardless of rate or spray interval. There was little difference in dollar spot control between Daconil 2787 4F at 6.0 fl. oz. and Daconil 90 DG at 3.5 oz. throughout the test. However, on the final rating (17 Jul), plots treated with Daconil 2787 4F had an unacceptable level of dollar spot. Although the difference was not statistically significant, it appeared that the DG formulation provided longer residual dollar spot control than the 4F formulation of Daconil.
