| Abstract/Contents: | Reports on a study conducted to "(i) determine the effects of deacclimating soil temperatures on freezing tolerance of annual bluegrass and creeping bentgrass; and (ii) examine early changes in physiological responses to deacclimating temperatures in relation to lipid composition, protein expression, respiration rates, and carbohydrate levels." Concludes by mentioning the potential value in these research findings, stating that "this will provide us with a greater understanding of how environmental conditions and cultural practices contribute to deacclimation...[and] we will have greater insight on how to reduce deacclimation potential...in order to improve winter survival." |
