Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted by the University of Massachusetts-Amherst "to examine the efficacy of early spring applications of fungicides labeled for dollar spot control." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "for each fungicide treatment, two timing strategies were used...Fungicides were applied at a nozzle pressure of 40 p.s.i. [pounds per square inch] using a CO2 [carbon dioxide] pressurized boom sprayer equipped with two XR Teejet 8005 VS nozzles." Reports that "routine fungicide applications will be held until the plots are rated for percent diseased area." Concludes that "means of percent diseased area [will be] compared among all treatments to evaluate the most effective early spring dollar spot control strategy." Includes tables depicting collected trial information, including fungicide treatments used, as well as a plot map of evaluated fungicide treatments. |
