Abstract/Contents:Presents a study conducted at the University of Georgia "to determine the influence of Fe [iron] on bentgrass rooting, shoot growth, and water use with emphasis on summer performance." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "three iron carriers (Fe sulphate, Seq. 330 [Sequestrene 330 Fe], Lawn-Plex) were applied at 1.0 lb Fe/A [one pound of iron per acre] per month to creeping bentgrass under well irrigated and 80% [percent] of well-irrigated conditions." Reports that "root length density decreased at 0-4 and 4-8 inch depths on all Fe treatments in July, August, and October." Concludes that "clipping yields showed a consistent trend for Seq. 330 to produce 10-20% [percent] fewer clippings."
