Abstract/Contents:Presents research conducted at the University of Georgia "to study the influence of K [potassium] and N [nitrogen] rates and K source on bentgrass performance, especially in the summer." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that potassium was applied at rates of 0, 3.6, 7.2, and 10.8 pounds per 1,000 square feet. Reports that "within an annual N rate, increasing K from K2SO4 [potassium sulfate] did not influence seasonal color or visual quality." Concludes that "this study will continue through 1989 with water use and rooting data to be obtained in 1988 and 1989."
