Abstract/Contents:Presents research conducted at the University of Georgia "to evaluate the performance, especially in the summer, of creeping bentgrass in response to different N [nitrogen] fertilization programs." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "control programs were urea based with N applied throughout the growing season or with summer N applications omitted." Reports that "programs at 8 lbs N/1000 ft2/yr [pounds of nitrogen per 1000 feet squared per year] and based on SCU [sulfur coated urea], Ureaform and Urea...were best." Concludes that "this study will continue for 1988-1989 with water use and rooting data obtained in these years."
