Abstract/Contents: | "Golf memberships are valuable assets even for those who have no intention of playing." Golf is the sign of business, status and money. In Japan, golf memberships are on the market for trading. A Kogane Golf Club membership has gone for $2.5-million. It may jump $100,000 in a single week. Up to date quotes are published and posted each week. 95% of Japan's roughly 1.8 million tradeable memberships do not involve actual ownership, but give buyers the right only to play golf, not to the clubs' assets or lands. |
