Abstract/Contents:Presents a study that examines the use of the plant growth regulators (PGRs) paclobutrazol and flurprimidol. Details the methods and locations used during the experiment, and explains the turf breeds found within each of the fields being used so as to record their reactions to the PGRs. Concludes that "overall, the spread of the bentgrass population at Esmerelda was greater than at Avondale because the latter is used as a practice facility on a daily basis and the former is primarily a nursery green that receives little traffic pressure," and that "although PGR applications to control annual bluegrass resulted in minimal injury to the bentgrass population, the benefits of increased bentgrass populations could be worth the risk."
