| Abstract/Contents: | Addresses "practical issues surrounding just a couple of the most commonly heard complaints, suggestions, and general frustrations forwarded [to course managers] by the golfer." Focuses on concerns pertaining to topdressing applications and sand bunkers. States that "the practicalities of successfully backfilling aeration holes are immense...success in completely backfilling holes requires perfect conditions with adequate time, staff resources, tools, and general TLC [tender loving care]." Provides assessment guidelines for determining "why bunkers may not be performing well or are taking too much time to manage." Concludes that superintendents should "ensure that achievable targets are set and that golfers are not left disappointed despite the best efforts of the greenkeeping team." |
