Abstract/Contents:On sites where the soil retained little moisture, the green cover on S.- or W.-facing slopes was porrer than that on N.- or E.-facing slopes, which were less exposed to intense solar radiation. Under these unfavorable conditions Festuca rubra was dominant initially, but after about 5 years F. ovina was the more dominant species. A list of 48 unsown spp. that invaded the trials is given. Species of Bryophyta and Lotus corniculatus occurred, sometimes in only small numbers, on all sites.
