| Abstract/Contents: | Profiles LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting, comparing it to incandescent, fluorescent, and HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting. States that "because many are unfamiliar with LED technology, it's easy to jump on the bandwagon without really knowing which LED fixture or lamp is the right choice." Details the mechanisms that take place in order for LEDs to emit light, and explains that lower quality diodes sell for less and provide a low quality light. Suggests that LED lighting is more energy efficient, and concludes that "LED will continue to evolve and become the replacement for the lighting we know today." |
