Abstract/Contents: | Although good prices are being paid for chunks of suitable land, the bad news is that for farmers good farming practice can spoil the prospect of the land being transformed into quaility greens. Developers are looking for places which have not been put under intensive agricultural pressure. The ideal type of soil for a golf course would be acid, sandy heathland. Drainage needs to be good also. And pasture land is the easiest to convert for golf course use. |
