Abstract/Contents: | New developments in the turfgrass industry discussed, based on a seminar organized jointly by Johnsons, Seeds, Ransomes, Cameron, and Fisons. Topics included: breeders efforts, new cultivars, irrigation systems, Zero phosphate, fertilizer, and equipment selection. In turf management a stable state exists when three supports are in balance: the environment, the turfgrass mixture, and the management. Discusses many resistance factors that are present and that are being introduced. Contains facts on new methods for irrigation systems and what to look for when choosing a good system. Presents information on a form of fertilizer called Zero Phosphate that has been introduced recently and its application process. Gives advice on what types of machinery should be used and where a buyer could find a good servicer. |
