| Abstract/Contents: | A review of areas of nematology to demonstrate that nematodes modify roots, physiologically, and create conditions in which other soil pathogens may flourish--even to the extent of infecting plants that are normally resistant to them. Investigation of the interaction between nematode and plants provides the key to understanding pathogenesis, the way in which nematodes damage plants, with its attendant prospects of generating resistant cultivars and identifying improved control strategies. |
