Abstract/Contents: | In 2-year trials, N sources (ureaformaldehyde, isobutylidene diurea and liquid urea), N rates (3, 6 or 9 lb/10002 ft per year) or frequency of application (monthly or bimonthly) had no significant effect on the quality or yield of centipedegrass [Eremochloa ophiuroides], St. Augustinegrass [Stenotaphrum secundatum] and cv. Floratam [S. secundatum]. Centipedegrass, however, was of significantly higher quality than the other 2 grasses. The lowest N rate was too high for the 3 grasses and even lower N rates are recommended to reduce or avoid cold injury during hard winters. |
