| Abstract/Contents: | Suggests that the wet summer of 2010 resulted in damaged fine fescues throughout Wisconsin. Reports that because of the high amount of rainfall during the summer, wet rootzones were more susceptible to fungal diseases including: Bipolaris leaf spot, summer patch, anthracnose, Curvularia leaf spot, and Fusarium blight. Provides recommendations for lawn evaluation during the fall and herbicides for application. States that "the summer of 2010 should also illustrate that no matter how great a grass looks one year, when the conditions turn extreme the next year even the lowest input grasses can give homeowners and lawn care providers major headaches." |
