| Abstract/Contents: | 1989 update of National Kentucky Bluegrass Variety Test established 9/85 near Lexington, KY to test 74 named and experimental varieties in KY's transitional climate. Plots receive 3lbs N/1000 sq. ft. annually during fall and early winter. To obtain maximum stress, plots are not irrigated and are mowed at 1.5 inches. A table provides 1986-89 annual and 4-year average visual quality ratings (1 to 9; 9=best qualityy) with a least significant difference value for 1989. 4-year average ratings ranged from 4.8 (South Dakota Certified) to 6.5 (America). |
