| Abstract/Contents: | 1989 update of test to evaluate winterkill and quality of 10 bermudagrass cultivars established various years from 1976-1988 at a Kentucky location. Cultivars are U-3, Common (seeded), Guymon (seeded), Midiron, NK 78098 (seeded), Vamont, RS-1, London (Sel.), Bowling Green (Sel.), and Tifton 10. A table provides establishment date, % greenup on 4/25, and texture. RS-1, Vamont, and Tifton 10 had best greenups (75, 65, and 68%, respectively) and medium texture. Common (seeded) and Guymon (seeded) had worst greenup (0 and 10%, respectively) and coarse and very coarse texture, respectively. Spring dead spot was not a serious problem in 1989. |
