Abstract/Contents: | Describes Bill Hamilton's experience working at a China - based golf course and his concern with its construction. Addresses the presence of 24 inches of sand above the gravel layer and clarifies that this is double the design specification amount for collared areas. Describes how when he aerated the greens he found quite a bit of Chinese pea gravel. Concludes by saying, "It's very hard to describe the environment here and how the game is played. The rules are very different and they are written in a different language." |
