Abstract/Contents:Dr. Vic Gibeault, along with his collaborators at the University of California, Riverside, are advocating a new idea in selecting and irrigating turf that will significantly increase water conservation and reduce irrigation costs. Based on a four-year study published in California Agriculture, the researchers say it is now an obsolete practice to select one grass and one irrigation schedule for an entire area. Bermudagrasses and seashore Paspalum performed best in the study.
