Abstract/Contents:Test to evaluate several experimental and commercially available herbicides for the control of broadleaf weeds in Kentucky bluegrass turf. Fourteen treatments were applied to three replications of 6' x 10' plots on May 23, 1989. White clover and broadleaf plantain were evaluated on one site and ground ivy and wild violets were evaluated at another. Treatments were applied at a 50 GPA spray rate to turf maintained at a 2.5 inch height. Herbicides were Turflon D, Turflon II, Confront, Trimec, and 2 PLUS 2 alone or with Frigate. Chemical names, application rates, and percent control on 6/28 and 7/27/89 are provided in tables. Treatments with the herbicide Tough were ineffective and are not reported. Turflon D and Turflon II gave best overall control of all broadleaf weeds evaluated.
