| Abstract/Contents: | The effect of the commercial soil stabilizers Sacoflor, Terradur, Curasol AH and BL 801 Konzentrat on the germination of Lolium perenne cv. Manhattan, Festuca ovina cv. Biljart, Poa pratensis cv. Baron and Agrostis tenuis cv. Tracenta, and on erosion prevention was studied. There was no correlation between germination inhibition and erosion prevention. Curasol AH produced little germination inhibition (except with P. pratensis) and gave good erosion protection; Sacoflor was excellent in preventing erosion but seriously impaired germination; Terradur gave moderate protection against erosion and moderately severe inhibition of germination; and BL 801 Konzentrat gave poor results in both respects. |
