| Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicide treatments were evaluated for dollar spot (Lanzia, Moelleroduscus fungi) and brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani) prevention on creeping bentgrass greens located at University of Kentucky Spindleton Research farm. The turf was maintained at a 0.25 in. mowing height, received minimum nitrogen fertilization, and otherwise conventional maintenance." Four replicates of treatments were applied at 2 gal/1000 ft2 and 25 psi in a RCBD to 5'x6' plots. Bi-(29 May, 12 Jun, 26 Jun, 10 Jul) and tri-weekly (29 May, 19 Jun, 10 Jul) applications of several fungicides were made. Plots were evaluated on 17 Jul by counting the number of dollar spot infection centers/plot and by estimating the percent area of each plot infected with brown patch. A table of these evaluations is presented. Banner 1.1 E, Chipco 26019, Daconil 2787, and SN 596 were best and Rubigan was worst in controlling brown patch. |
