| Abstract/Contents: | "Beginning with the change-over from imperial to metric dimensions in 1968 a number of variations have been made by the Amateur Athletic Association, in consultation with the National Playing Fields Association, to the specification requirements for the layout and construction of athletic facilities. These changes culminated in 1970 with the preparation of new drawings by the N.P.F.A. which have since been adopted by the International Amateur Athletic Federation for international use." Changes were to include: track length, measurement of track length, track crossfall, layout of track, layout of jumps, throwing circles, pole vault landing area, high jump landing area, triple jump landing area, and all-weather surfaces. |
