Abstract/Contents: | Highlights the New York State (NYS) Integrated Pest Management Program (IPM) and describes its role in the Safe Playing Fields Act. Presents regulations regarding the minimization of pests on playing fields which children use regularly. Explains the grant, mentioning that it "funds multiple objectives including the promotion of the adoption of verifiable IPM, such as IPM Star, in schools through extensive training for school facility managers." Also mentions that "the grant enables NYS IPM to collaborate on a project collecting data on the association between asthma related absence and pest management practices in schools." |
