Abstract/Contents: | Lava sand, often used as an ingredient of the root zone material for sports turf, contains 20-40 mg M2O/100 g. However, analysis of clippings from turf grown on a root zone consisting of lava sand or one containing 40% lava sand showed that very little of the potash was available to the plant. Dressings of potash fertilizers reduced wilting and increased the potash content of the clippings. |
