| Abstract/Contents: | Details an installation project conducted for the Vancouver Whitecaps by English Lawns of North Vancouver to install and remove 9,000 square feet of sod for the July 2011 visit by the Football Association Challenge Cup champion Manchester City. Notes the project was coordinated by JB Instant Lawn from Silverton, Oregon, and Bos Sod supplied the playing surface. Details installation, which started by placing a plastic tarp over the artificial field taped at the seams. States the natural turf was harvested in rolls four feet wide by 50 feet long, and delivered the day of installation. Mentions the turfgrass mix was 75 percent Perennial ryegrass and 25 percent Kentucky bluegrass. Explains how two install machines and a third mechanical pusher were used to lay the rolls, with installation taking thirty hours and removal taking thirty hours. |
