Abstract/Contents:Claims that the practice of overseeding bermudagrass greens for winter is declining, and that not overseeding has been found to reduce maintenance costs and increase putting green quality. Identifies the potential problem with discontinuing overseeding as a loss in winter color, which superintendents are attempting to combat by experimenting with paints and dyes to maintain green tints. Focuses on a study conducted by applying various dyes and paints to TifEagle and Champion bermudagrass beginning in November 2011 and continuing through the winter. Reports that "in general, the products classified as paints, including Green Lawgner, Turf Dye Southwestern, Color 2 Grass, and WinnerPlay exhibited warmer surface temperatures than the pigments or dye."
