Abstract/Contents: | Discusses using cruciferous plant residues as fungicides. Notes that "previous studies on the fungicidal effects of glucosinolate-containing plants have been conducted in the greenhouse or in field soils under typical crop-growing conditions, but before this study, they had not been tested against turfgrass snow molds." Details lab trails in which brassica compounds have been found to have potentially powerful effects against fungal pathogens, however the brassica compounds also can have strong effects on turfgrasses if gas rates or substance levels are too high. States that "we were able to find a mustard tissue producer who is able to make formulations of the product that are very slow release." |
